This is 花生豆花 or "hwa shung dou hwa" or Peanut DouHwa or Peanut Tofu Pudding.
Whatever you wanna call it, this is my second favorite Taiwanese sweet treat (first place is chawbing or shaved ice).
It is a soy bean based pudding topped with brown sugar water and peanuts. Yummy!!
A small cup (this one) costs 20 NT or about 60 US cents.

That does look sweet! The pudding looks like a custard, which is one of my favorite desserts. I'm afraid this week's theme is going to make us all very hungry!

ReplyDeleteI love this dessert. There is this famous Taiwanese eatery that came to set up in Singapore. Yong He Dou Jiang. I have my fix every now and then. Sweet.

Hehe... the close-up makes it look rather "exotic" :D Peanut sounds good, but my experience on tofu is something I wouldn't care to repeat :S But I take your word for it being good!
