hot pot just gets better

Pumpkin hot pot used to be my favorite.  But, I think I might have just found one that is even better.

At A Guan, a restaurant near my apartment, they allow you to have two kinds of soup for boiling your food in by providing a split pot.  I chose coconut milk and curry.  The curry soup base was so wonderful I didn't even need the hot pot dipping sauce that I love so much.

This was also my first time to have chicken hot pot.  I usually choose beef or pork.  The chicken at this place was wonderful . . . I'd choose it again in a heartbeat.

Anyone wanna come join me for hot pot this weekend?  I'd be happy to go again!

Chicken Hot Pot--cocnut milk and curry

  1. OOOHHH! We had friends who had us over for hot pot a few times. They even had the special table for it. Yummy! I have forgotten about it until your post.
It looks like you had a fab Christmas.
    Happy new year!

  2. Me, me, pick me!
I'd love to experiment with new foods with someone who knows what they're doing.

  3. Oh, yum. Now I'm jealous!!
Does the pot slip down inside the table? If so, that's a *lot* of food. wow!

  4. The pot does slip down into the table. As you can see in the open (potless) spot in front of mine. There is a hot plate type thing that keeps the pot warm and the water boiling while you eat.
And, yes, it is quite a bit of food. That is why it takes about three hours to eat it all. :)

  5. Okay, stop posting food... :-)
We are counting down the days until we can be back and eat Chinese food. Isn't that one of the BEST parts of China and of traveling in general -- the food? We are enjoying the treats and specialties here too! (I've eaten something related to Mexican almost every day!)

  6. That looks wonderful. Maybe we can take u up on that offer during the winter vacation :)!
